The MB-102 helps greatly and allows you to use the side of the grindstone.

Quote from: Perra on Today at 01:11:29 AMI have also tested and evaluated the new KS-123 for some time and agree with Dutchman in his views. It is a simple and easy-to-use setting tool that we both had the privilege of influencing the execution of. Think it will become a "must have" tool for anyone working on knife sharpening with a Tormek. Håkan is extremely active in the development of new products and listens more than we think to ideas that we users bring to the forum. I had the privilege of meeting Ken on site at Tormek and can confirm that he has a great deal of experience and a burning interest in the art of sharpening tools in all different ways, and he is also a very nice man to be around. Continue to lead us in the jungle of knowledge.

I think all of you who wanted to buy my tool will be glad I didn't sell you one now that you can buy a similar "better" Tormek original tool instead.

I'm glad you got to provide input on their original design.

Tormek T-1 and T-2 / another good opinion
Last post by Ken S - Today at 04:25:35 AM
I enjoy Ukulele Jay's videos. In this video, he demonstrates how he skillfully uses his T1. His technique is not idetical to Tormek's. It is close and it is effective.

Enjoy.

Quote from: Skullhair on Today at 04:04:55 AMI purchased my T8 in 2022 and has ran great until a couple weeks ago when it started making a squeaking noise when turned on. It only does it for a second or so then goes away. I took the shaft off and cleaned it and put a little white lithium grease on each side of the shaft. The squeaking went away for a day or two but now it's back. Any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks

The motor's shaft may be slipping on the rubber drive wheel.  You can roughen the drive wheel a bit with some sandpaper, and see if that solves it.  (Also make sure the motor shaft is cleaned off.)

Hugo,

Thanks for posting the notice about the KS-123 Online Class. I am definitely looking forward to it, as are many forum members. The KS-123 is long anticipated.

Some of the members are unsure if tomorrow's class will be part of Tormek's youtube channel. Some reassurance from you would be most appreciated.

Ken

PS I enjoyed meeting you last summer.

First post here...so take it easy on me. I have been collecting knives since I was 12...now 59. I have been a guided sharpener fan for a while and had been doing most my sharpening on a wicked edge. Well the bug bit me and I ordered a Tormek T8 and I am just now setting it up.
I have always been a gadget guy and found this new gadget online today and ordered one.
I will be hanging out trying to absorb it all in from all of you.
Looking forward to the Tormek live show in about 13 hours.

Yes, I recall all of the discussion and Indeed I read the review from Dutchman. Just looking at the short was enough to convince me. Checking Australian suppliers does not show it yet.

General Tormek Questions / Re: Is the SB-250 black stone ...

I suspect any CBN wheel can be used wet, preferably with aan anti corrosion agent such as Hone Rite Gold or Tormek ACC. One of the CBN vendors I emailed several years ago insisted that his wheels must be used dry or the warranty was voided. I thought the numerous warranty claims he received were from careless users who left their wheels soaking. I do not believe there would be any problem if the wheels were left to dry when not being used.

I agree with you. I would not use CBN wheels dry. I use mine wet with Hone Rite Gold. If you can not get Hone Rite Gold in Australia, use Tormek ACC.
