I recently purchased Japanese Knife. Unlike western knives, it has a grind so the two sides aren't parallel so I can't just half the edge angle to find the edge angle. See the side view of the blade in the photo below.
The edge is also very small, less than 1mm, so difficult to align the angle master with the actual edge
Any suggestions on how to find the correct edge angle?

Hello,
Just got the T-8.
Read through the manual. It states when sharpening knives, the "correct mounting position: ⟵a⟶" will make the bevel and the edge angle the same along the entire length of the blade. (see image from manual below).

However it doesn't explain how to calculate and set this position for various knives.
Any guides, suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

That's a fantastic explanation.
My intuition told me that would be the required technique, but I was concerned this would not be advisable for due to corner wear and tear on the stone.

Thank you.

Hello,
Can T-8 sharpen Bird's Beak Peeling Knife?
If so what technique works with such a concaved blade?

General Tormek Questions / Re: T-8 carry case

I found a good product which I like much better.
It's a stackable solution, larger box can carry the T-8: http://www.sortimo-shop.us/product-p/6000002705.htm
The smaller box can carry the various jigs and another stone wheel: http://www.sortimo-shop.us/product-p/6000002702.htm
They are stackable and click to each other so easy for storage and mobility.
The 102 can be purchased with pluck foam insert to organize and protect the jigs in the carry case.
This is what I'm going to get.
