I recently started using a diamond wheel... why did I wait so long! I of course use the SCC-150 in the water. I do reuse the water mixture, but after filtering the water and putting it into a jar I didn't wipe out the water trough. The next day I noticed an oily film in the trough. I have a couple questions, will the oil contaminate my other wheels? Should I use a degreaser of some sort so my water bench stones are not contaminated?

The effectiveness of the diamond wheel has prompted me to add diamond bench stones to my arsenal. I ran across Trend lapping fluid which is blue, made for diamond sharpening, designed to prevent corrosion, and is kind of oily. I wonder with Murphy being ever present, if in a pinch I could use the Trend with my T8 diamond wheel.

I assume you mean ACC (Anti Corrosion Concentrate). My keyboard does the same thing.  :)

Tormek recommends it (primarily) for diamond wheels and also for any of the other Tormek wheels. Are you using it at the recommended dilution, one part concentrate to twenty five parts water? I suspect the exact ratio is not critical; however, I have always followed Tormek's recommendation.

I always rinse and dry my trough when I empty it.

I have never used the Trend lapping fluid, so I can't offer an opinion on it, pro or con. ACC offers corrosion, needed for the steel wheels. If left to aur dry, it also leaves corrosion protection for tools.
