There are two ways to set the sharpening angle on a blade:

   
• Adjust the projection, keeping a constant distance of the USB from the grinding surface, or
• Keeping the projection constant, and adjusting the distance of the USB from the grinding surface.

The HanJig (https://sharpeninghandbook.info/indexJigs.html#HanJig) is used for option 1, and requires a way to change the projection (as with the SVM-45 jig).  This projection change is required as blades have different heights (the distance from the cutting edge to the opposite edge).

The KJ-45 does not allow for changing the projection, so I've not seen a way to use it with the HanJig.

Glad you appreciate it and want to try making your own. I use it all the time.

You can also use it the together with TormekCalc2 and an angle cube. Just turn it upside down but be sure that the ruler is long enough to rest on the grinding wheel. Pic16

I have also worked with a way to set the grinding angle with an angle cube and this tool, and have created my own excel file for it. If there is anyone who is interested, just let me know and I can upload it on the forum.

It is not easy to use an angle cube because the value only changes by 0.6 degrees on the angle cube for each full degree you change the grinding angle. Therefore, you need a very precise angle cube. But it can be fun to try.

When switching to honing wheel can i get a same accurate angle easily with digital angle guide?

I´m a new member for tormek community, and couldn´t find accurate information about; would Hanjig work with the new knife jig KJ-45

Also i would be glad of someone could post correct template for the hanjig. Theres couple of version going on the forum and not sure anymore wich is the right one
