I've also posted about using woodworking marking gauges, setting the distances using calipers, but using the marking gauge to transfer those settings to the knife jigs or USB positions.
Below is a huge dump of information on the calipers and marking gauges I use for sharpening. Sorry, it is quite long, so I'll sign off before.

Anyone purchasing a new TT-50 now should insist on getting the 2019 model. (Beware, most of the online photos show the older model.) I would suggest anyone happily using the older version continue with it. If you notice any chatter, it's your call. The new TT-50 costs $93 US. A pack of electrical ties costs less than $5.

The online retailer then recommended that I file a complaint with the shipping company. Since I'm not a contractor with the shipping company, can (according to my research) only the online retailer to appeal.

And even better, who can should spend more money at the local dealer rather than ordering at the cheapest online shop.
