I bought a 10 Jet bench grinder and the Multitool. Unfortunately the Multitool came with an inexcusable manufacturing flaw--a "bump" on the flat surface caused by a weld on the underside of it. Some day I will grind it flat even though it will bugger the anodizing. I suppose after using it for some time it would be removed anyhow.

Rob, I see a MultiTool in your future.

I could comment on the MultiTool but I understand that discussion of other tools is not allowed on this Tormek forum.

I used 3 in 1 oil.  Probably not enough though, after reading here about being careful not to use too much.

As the OP I guess I should let you know that I have purchased the MultiTool from Wolfgang and he recommended the Jet 3450 rpm grinder. Jet claims it to be 1 HP and also says 8 amps so that is not too far off being accurate. (It was on sale on Amazon through a Jet promotion for $215. Also picked up a wire wheel.)

Probably mainly lawnmower blades.

Is anyone here using the MultiTool?

I plan to buy it and wonder if I should opt for the Jet 1725 ($330-3/4HP) or the Jet 3450 ($240) RPM 8" grinder? Would slower actually be better?  There is also the Porter Cable ($120) variable speed (but it is just 5.0 amp).  Just looking for suggestions.

My mistake! I ignored that option since I didn't want to save just a link, I wanted to save the .mov. I see now that it does save the .mov.
In IE it says "Save Target As".

An older topic but I have had the same problem as the OP.  Only just now have I figured out how to save Jeff's videos.

I normally use Firefox. Right-clicking on a video does not have the option to save. (At least it doesn't on my Windows XP computer.)

I tried using Internet Explorer and there is an option to save the video. 


On different subject, I wonder what software Jeff used to make the videos. They are excellent from a software point of view.

I haven't received my T7 (with rotating base) yet but I need to build a bench to set it on. I'm 5'-10". What would be an ideal height for the bench?

I'm curious if there is some way to find an owner of a Tormek system near where I live--the top of Utah in Cache Valley/Logan.

I am developing a prototype tool which needs to be sharpened with more precision than I can do with a bench grinder. Either 0.083 or 0.120 mild steel.

I tried to find a spec on the width of the grinding wheel but was unsuccessful--2.25" would be ideal, since that is the width of shaping/sharpening that needs to be done--eight places.

BTW, I think Simple Machines forum software is the best.
