Title: planer blade jig
Post by: bobl on April 04, 2015, 10:19:19 PM
Hi,
can I use the planer blade jig to sharpen 8 inch - 10inch - and 12inch non serated / ham carving knives, or is this possible on the long jig for knives.
Thanks.
I await a reply with eagerness.
Cheers.

Welcome to the forum, Bobi.

I would use the long knife jig. The only difference between the relular and long knife jigs is the length of the clamping surfaces. The long knife jig has a clamping surface of 140 mm. It is especially designed for long, slender knives. The design lets you sharpen both sides of the knife without removing it from the jig. Leave the planer jig to planer and jointer blades.

You are most welcome, Bobi.

To quote Scotty in one of the Star Trek movies, "The right tool for the right job."
