I have a svs-40 jig for short chisels. It appears that the "newer" svs-32 is a revised 40, but the documentation with the 40 is not as complete as the 32 so it is difficult to compare their ranges.

Can anyone enlighten me?

John,

The two jigs work very similarly.  The SVS-40 has a "face" that you press against the Universal Support.  The SVS-32 straddles the Universal Support.  Straddling the support with the new jig gets you just a little bit closer to the work for even shorter tools and makes it just a bit easier to use, since there is no chance to fall away from the Universal Support.

Thanks Jeff another timely rersponse!!

I assumed the 32 was an updated 40 since they look so similar. It is nice to get from the experts.

Thanks again, John
