Brandnew member and also a new one in the tormek world :-)

Located here in germany and a self-sharpener for many years - but more on the rough and uneducated side.

Now i got a present from an old man here in my neigbourhood. A tormek PR-250 in a deeply negected condition.

After a lot of cleaning and derusting its running again! I sharpened some stuff free-handed to test the machine an i am realy pleased with this old machine.

Sadly there came not a single piece with it.

My first question is - what support bar fits and where can i find one.

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Best Regards

Thomas

Welcome to the forum, Thomas.

I am not familiar with the PR-250. However, do not despair. When I visited Tormek last year, I met Mats, the Head of Support. Mats is a very dedicated employee and a good fellow. He has been with Tormek since the 1980s, and may well have worked on building your Tormek.

Part of the Tormek philosophy is non obsolesce. Mats canadvise you on what what pieces you might needto get your PR-250 back on active duty. Here is a link to support (support@tormek.se)

Please keep us posted.

the Tormek PR-250 would appear to be a dedicated knife sharpening machine  ;D

looks to me like the extra long support bar

would be suitable but maybe the position of the holes is not the same as the modern machines???

I think Tormek support would give best advice, like Ken says.

As I know the pr 250 was meant as a heavy duty machine - for big butcheries, slaughterhouses and so on. On my machine is a sticker from a central-clinic-kitchen. There are some informations here https://forum.tormek.com/index.php/topic,4040.msg27977.html#msg27977

Lets see what the support will answer :-)

Greetings

Thomas
