knife trouble

hi,everyone ave got the 1206 model my trouble is when i try to sharpen my boneinig knifes i can not get thewire edge to pop up what am i doing wrong.

The wire edge will be of variable size, depending on the quality of the steel in the blade.  Don't worry so much about the wire edge as having the two bevels meet at the center of the blade.
