Interesting video. I remember in my metallurgy classes we never talked about the history. Only the compositions, properties and heat treating.

That was fascinating.  Thanks for posting it, Ken.  I looked at some his other stuff and found the one on the development of the Phillips head screw and the square one in Canada (Robertson?). Quite a bit of other interesting stuff there too.

And watching these led to a long one about the SR-71 Blackbird.  Very long, over an hour, but worth it, in my opinion.

I have enjoyed many of The History Guy's you tubes. Most are ten to fifteen minutes in length, long enough to cover the subject in some depth without being overly long.
