Stained Stone

I recently got my Tormek and have used it to sharpen a number of tools.  However, I have noticed that the stone has become stained.  So, I have used the stone grader and ground for minutes on the stone but cannot seem to get one black streak removed.  I'm pressing hard enough to stop the stone from spinning and trying to make sure I am in contact all the way across the stone.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Remove the honing wheel and rough up the drive tire with a piece of coarse sandpaper. You should not be able to stop the machine without extremely heavy pressure.

Use the corner of the stone grader for more aggressive cleaning.
