Fast Grinding

I have trouble with fast grinding. It takes me forever to reshape edges (not 2 minutes like the video but more like an hour).
I use the method described in the Tormek owner book but can't achieve a 220 grit or if I do, It doesn't last very long. What do I do wrong?

I suggest that you be a bit more aggressive when you grade the stone.  Angle the grader so that only the corner is on the grindstone -- it will cut faster that way. Bear down with considerable force and keep at it until any black or red stain on the stone is removed.
