Hard or soft water best?

Any thoughts on whether it is better to use 'hard' tap water or 'soft' rainwater (already collected for plant use) for lubricating the stone wheel?
Presumably use of hard water would leave a limescale deposit on the wheel long term as it does in the kitchen etc.

Hi Elmer,

I use tap water and since I use the Tormek I never had any issue, the lime scale deposits  would be quickly removed by the grinding action. But I also don't seen any using soft water, I think that may be a pretty good idea even though I never tried.
