Jig Modification for 82° Point Angle

In some parts, I use flat head screws which need an 82° chamfer to the drilled hole.  As the counter sinks for that are usually quite expensive, I wanted to resharpen a drill bit to do that job.

I was able to modify my DBS-22 by adding only one new hole and get the desired results.  Pictures below show the overview.  Details and instructions are at:  https://www.sharpeninghandbook.info/indexJigs.html#DBS22.

That is a handy mod, Rich.  Good that you put it so far over, it allows for much further movement.  I don't recall exactly when I did this as I have used the DBS sliding platform for several non-drill bit projects in the past couple years.  I have mine marked for 45º but it looks like it would go as far as 40º. 

I use flat head screws a lot, really like them.  I'm fortunate to have a good supply of countersinks of various sizes.  What I need to do for many is to sharpen the pilot point as that is what gets dull with use.  Their shortness may require some special jigging, like the pin vises which I use for smaller drills.
