A client asked me this Q and I wasn't sure what to recommend.

Zeev,

I use the SVM-00 jig held in the SVM-45 jig.

Kind regards,
Rich

Zeev,

I think those are more commonly known as scorp knives (or that's what I've always called them).  There are two approaches to sharpening, depending on the carver's preference :

  • sharpen the curve's outside edge to have a bevel, or
  • sharpen the curve's inside edge to have a  bevel.

Option 1 can be done on the Tormek, probably easiest by hand.  But that would still really only be to set the bevel edge.  Still need to hone by hand.

For option 2, it is all hand done.

Good luck & kind regards,
Rich

Dear Rick,
Thanks for the answers. I could guess that there is no better solution then hand sharpening relying on the sharpeners skill.

Will forward the answer. Thanks.
