Question about sharpening really small scissors

Hi, new member and new to using the Tormek.

I have not tried it yet but see that the scissor sharpening jig is not really allowing me to get the proper angle on my wife's really small scissors that she uses to cut thread while crocheting. The scissors are so small that there is not enough blade protruding from the jig to allow for the 20 degrees or so that it has on it (they are cheapies and the original grind is horrible!)

Any solutions to this? I was thinking perhaps grabbing onto the handle instead of the actual blade, as shown in the videos  but thought to ask here of there any of you have a better solution to this.

Welcome to the forum. I think we must consider that every sharpening tool has an ideal size range. The scissors jig can handle hedge trimmers. I have only sharpened a few scisdors, all larger than your small thread scissors. Hopefully some scissors specialists will post. If not, you can always contact support (support@tormek.se).

I would not be hesitant to contact support.  I was at first, but at Ken's behest, I did and got great results.

I would either free hand them or use the SVD-110 Tool Rest. Your idea of putting the handles in the scissors jig might work, too. The thing is, since they're cheap, you've not much to lose.
