Also, if you plan to sharpen small edge angles, you will need to bevel the underside of the platform where it meets the grindstone. You may find that your platform flexes because it is too thin.

I'm delighted that all these years later people are still making this jig and watching my YouTube video.

The screws are far enough back they don't get in the way of my blade. I followed your guidance on the forum or in your video? and beveled the back side of the plate. The big mistake I made was centering the diving board. I'm going to use this one for the buffing wheel and make another one that is left justified for the grind wheel.

Welcome to the forum, Tony.

I agree, we are an ingenious bunch, made better by sharing our ideas. Even today, the Tormek jig for small knives is really designed for wooden handled carving knives rather than small knives made of metal. our small platform, being the width of the grinding wheel, lets us sharpen both sides of a blade without having to reposition the jig.
