I've had time to use Rick's pivot clamp on several knives and since using it I've no interest in returning to the original set up. I know to lift or to pivot seems to be somewhat controversial but from my experience a little bit of pivoting and lifting is required. I appreciate how well it is made and the results have been excellent.  Thanks Rick for fabricating such a great mod.

I was wondering if this can be seen on YouTube in action? Just trying to get some clarification on what it is this is going to do for me.

Having used 3 of Rick's Pin Pivot Collars for half a year, with Rick's blessing we've started fabricating them in Australia by his drawings.
Unfortunately, labour is not cheap in Australia - who can afford them, they will be available in our online shop by the end of November

We encourage everyone to use the Pin Pivot Collar for sharpening complex curves, either ours or home-made like Gord has shown, or by halving a high-grade aluminium round bar.

My supply of the original Pin Pivot Collars is now exhausted, so they are no longer available from me.  Until and unless I have more fabricated, the only source is from Wootz at the link above.  I appreciate him having them made and making them available.

Quality is like buying oats.  If you want nice, clean, fresh oats, you must pay a fair price. However, if you can be satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse, that comes at a lower price.
