Neatsfoot oil

I am having trouble obtaining Mineral Oil but have some Neatsfoot oil. Can I use this on the honing wheels as it is used to restore and preserve leather.

Neatsfoot oil should work fine.  Just don't use too much (of anything!).  The idea is to condition the leather once.  From that point on, honing compound should be the only thing you use on your honing wheel.
