Go to eBay search on the model interested in, then go to advanced search and search on sold listings.
Go to search tempest, search all of craigslist and look for Tomek. In my experience, if no phone number, pass on the ad.

If one can make more money repairing selling used machines than in their occupation, go for it.

I did it with IBM Correcting Selectrics.

Then I got a real job........paying a little more.

UMD MS CMSC helped.

Goodson has 40 years of experience on grit wheels, 10 years on CBM, and 20-25 on a diamond.
Those times should give them some level of reference.

Knife Sharpening / Re: Why Felt is Best for Deburring

Diamond hard wheels have flex in them also, so the explanation in that video, needs further refinement in order to exclude USA made diamond-hard wheels.

Some hard are others med, some rock hard are others flint hard, some rock hard are others hard.

Perhaps his overseas' manufacturer does not offer diamond hard.

I have followed eBay for several years. 200-300 in good condition with accessories seems low to me. Anyone contemplating purchasing a SuperGrind should check carefully.

Ken

Me too, since 1996.

He has more as of this afternoon.

Has anyone used premium diamond honing oil with the Tormek diamond wheels?

The company I talked to suggested honing oil over a water-based solution with all wheels, both eliminate the possibility of rust without additives.

I talked to a man who uses grinding wheels every day. A professional crankshaft grinder.
He says to only way to get every tool the same, start with the wheel in the exact same condition, true every grind.

Talked to one of the USA's premium crankshaft grinders for the last 40 plus years. He gave me several tips on how to maintain and use ALL types of (wet) grinding wheels. He has done this for 40 years. (These guys deal measurements in ten thousands (.0001) of an inch.)

1)Keep the fixture to true, set up, locked in place, and on the 103-105 stand,
2) True before every use (every knife is now set to sharpen with same true wheel),
3) True any time the grinding wheel is removed,
4) Buy and use the same fluids with the wheels, a crankshaft grinder uses. (https://goodson.com/collections/grinding-coolants/products/gpc-multi-duty-grinding-coolant) (Hint Hint read the description you might learn something), and
5) filter this fluid and reuse, (clean/filter out debris and metal) change every 3 mos.

Do this and save money. Plus you start at .0005 +/- every time.

Those sell used on ebay for 200-300 in good condition with accessories, might be less going that way.
