I have just learned that my friend VADIM passed away on January 11th.
A great friend to all of us and a great guide for our industry.
My thoughts go to his family.
We will miss you!!! Thanks for everything.

Knife Sharpening / Convex profile knife
October 25, 2020, 03:18:44 PM
Good morning,
before writing I did some research on our site but found nothing about it.
My question is: on Tormek T7 or T8 is it possible to sharpen a knife that has a construction with a convex profile? Without altering the structure of the knife during the sharpening phase. By convex profile I mean that from the edge to the bevel the sides are forged in a convex manner. (Normally the knives are flat or concave profile) :-\
Thank you

Since this too is a "COMMUNITY", in this moment of difficulty for all humanity.
I wish everyone a peaceful continuation of life.
By staying at home, we can commit our time to safeguarding our lives and that of others and devoting ourselves to our sharpening passions.
Be calm. everything will be fine! :-*

Having the need for a universal long T-bar (US400) today I wrote to Tormek:

"Good morning,
as a Tormek user I follow the various forums and also the FB pages.
Many users including myself who use your product (T4-T7-T8) for sharpening long knives need a longer universal T-shaped support (US-400). Don't you think it is your duty to put a small supply of this type of support back into production? It costs nothing to you in terms of design and construction, having marketed it in the past.
I believe you would be happy with many users, giving excellent customer service.
Confident in your positive attitude, I send my best regards."

This was the prompt reply:

"Hello Venanzio,
We will consider to make a limited edition according to your suggestions. Where do you normally purchase your Tormek products?
Best Regards Hakan"

We remain in hopeful expectation

General Tormek Questions / Tormek: Big Company
May 06, 2019, 07:04:25 PM
A serious company can be seen from the small attentions it addresses to its customers.
I am obliged to publicly thank Tormek for sending me two free dice for the micro adjustment of my universal bar.
After losing the micro-adjustment nut, I turned to the Tormek assistance center to find out how to get the spare part from my local distributor. Without batting an eye, Tormek sent me two micro-adjustment dice for free.
Thanks Tormek, with a small gesture they solved my big problem.  ;)

Knife Sharpening / Positive or negative smoothing
April 19, 2019, 05:00:32 PM
Excuse the profane question.
If one does not have a Bess or a tester available, how can he know if a burr is positive or negative?
To be able to carry out the most suitable sanding.
Thank you.
