General Tormek Questions / Re: New rig!

Repairs were amazingly easy.  And I now understand why these are in such high demand for conversions to food trucks and catering/concession trailers, much to the chagrin of my equestrian friends.

Utilized my resources to locate a two-horse, bumper-pull, trailer, a real gem as "rust free" as anyone can possibly imagine, as it was custom ordered new by owned for the last 35+ years by a police department for their Mounted Patrol, immaculate and until last spring, always kept in a heated barn out of the weather.

The ONLY "problem" per-say is a tree had fallen on it...

Hey John,  wow...you really pack a lot of stuff up.

Yeah it's a real pain in the Chuckas I'm telling you. starting to think about how we can maybe convert my open trailer into an enclosed one and have a mobile sharpening studio that I can just park anywhere...

To be fair when we go to farmers market we bring two tents and extra tables and stuff because my wife also has her macramé and card making  thing there....

And how much are tacos?   ;D  ;D  ;D

$4.00 each.

$10.00 for two with beans and rice.

Dear friends and fellow culinarian, I keep their catering empire knives "chef sharp" in exchange for "rent"  and free taco's while I'm there. And one chorizo quesadilla to take home for Lolli's dinner on Wednesday ! I also ply my previous pastry chef skills on occasion.  You know the difference between crême caramel and flan? 5.00 on th menu,  badabing. We are in a codependent relationship. The very best kind. Taco's!

I contacted Jackery. They sell thru Amazon. They stated that a T-8 would run approximately 7+ hrs of continuous use using their pro 1500. Down side $1699.  They have several model with or without solar. Hope this helps

Solar would be amazing, never considered that.
Was just planning on charging up everywhere I went that had ground power and using that power when I didn't.

I think really I need to get in line wattage meter and plug it in at a venue and see what I actually use in a day.

, a rod-based system with narrow/triangular/semicircular stones gives a quicker and much better result because you have more control.

I've been doing recurves on the EdgePro, takes a long time compared to a the Tormek, but at my current skill level, I feel the customer blades are safer that way.  After 20 more years I hope to have that "Wolfgang touch".

Some pics from my Wednesday location. it's all about location, location, location , and tacos.. Directly a across the street from the hardware store and bank, next door to the grocery store, at the intersection of 3 State Routes (14, 15, & 16)... oh and tacos..

As much as I love "hanging out" with my neighbors at our town's farmers market, I can do $200 in 5 hours here on a Wednesday afternoon, compared to $40. All day Sunday

A search for "inverter" resulted in  several topics e.g.: https://forum.tormek.com/index.php?topic=3198.msg18565#msg18565

I tried the search function, while I have not kept up with them, I'm sure technology advances have occurred since the last discussions in 2016/17 etc.?

I have been invited to attend a potentially lucrative (and excellent advertising/marketing opportunity) event but they have no ground power and a generator to the site is not permitted.
Need to run potentially (2) T-8's for 4 hours. (Worst case) v=i*r ?
