To switch from edge leading to edge trailing you need to flip the machine, or you move to the other side. That's it

I find it amazing that some of you are able to design and build something like this with precision! Very nice  8)

General Tormek Questions / Re: Water disposal

Thanks all for the replies / recommendations.

I will try to figure something out. I also have to consider winter time where I don't really want to have to go outside to empty the water tank.

I think it will end up being something like separating the water from the solids in two buckets of some sort. And disposing of both in a different manner. Like trashing the solids/residues and flushing the water.

General Tormek Questions / Water disposal

Hi Tormek Forum,

I'm a new member, starting my journey with the Tormek T-8 (mainly knifes). I'm a french  Canadian. Glad to be here and I'm a big Tormek fanboy already.

I tried searching the forums about this topic and couldn't find a discussion on this. If it's already discussed in a thread, please feel free to redirect me to it.

I was wondering what are the recommendations for disposing of the water and metal/stone residues after some sharpening?

I had my T-8 in my garage until now and I typically empty it and clean it frequently. I was emptying the water reservoir outside my garage in a dedicated spot in my lawn. And rinsing and refill with a hose without causing to much of a mess in my garage.

Now I moved my setup inside in a dedicated room in my basement. Unfortunately I don't have a sink or any water source in that room, but I will figure out how to fill the water. But, I'm trying to figure a good system for emptying it.

After seeing the quantity of metal and stone residue, especially after truing a wheel, I'm pretty sure I should not flush this in the toilet or in a house sink.

Where do you guys drain your water reservoir?

any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!
