That's what I ended up doing, free-hand sharpening on the SVD110. It sure isn't as smooth as using a jig though.  I just recently started turning, and wanted to get my hand-me-down tools sharp.  The Tormek is working great for me. (And I did order it from Sharptools, with no problems!)  I pretty much use the spear point to make a consistant V-groove cut, or to remove material under the crown on a mushroom since it is a smaller tool

Thanks for the forum, this is workign well for me.

I have the Profile honing wheel for my turning tools.  Do I need to use the Mineral oil on it and the honing compound as well?
