Knife Sharpening / Re: US-430 anyone

cbwx34, thanks for the video, mate! And thanks again for the calc - love it.

It is a reasonable alternative to sharpen a machete. But how to use it with fancy shiny swords? This jig could scrape them up a lot. Personally I don't own one, but theoretically...

Hello, Perra!

Nice one, thanks for the idea. Now I use standard small Tormek honing wheels to work with serrations, but will consider to build more versatile wheel as yours.

US-430 is fine, but what about an US-900? With this bad boy Tormek can be used even as a sword sharpening machine :)

Hi everyone!

I can confirm that using two wheels on a T8 works fine. You'll need a second water tray with a stand, and a custom bushing with a nut/handle for mounting the wheel. Optionally, an extended double-sided support can be used to avoid inverting it when switching between wheels.
For me personally warranty risk is totally worth it because this setup saves time and is very convenient, especially with an additional honing station. Now with two CBN wheels T8 feels like a next level machine!

Hello everyone!

I can confirm, T4 could be used as a dedicated deburring station with 250 mm Rockhard felt wheel. The wheel fits well without any modifications.

QuoteIs it practical? That depends. If you already have the T4, why not? It's a bird in the hand.

In my case there was one main reason to try this out: chance to buy second hand unit in good condition for a reasonable price.
