Ive since taken the 80 grit sandpaper to the wheel and Im happy with the results. The surface of the taper is nice and solid and hasn't gone loose or messy. Thanks again for your feedback.

Thanks to you all for your helpful advice. I received a reply from the manufacturer, who advised I use 80 grit sandpaper.
I'll mount the wheel on the T8 and maybe use two sanding blocks with the 80 grit and offset them so I can sand both sides at the same time. This will be interesting after considering all your replies. I'll report back.

Im hoping somebody can offer advice regarding a tapered 250mm wheel I use on my T8. I primarily use this for sharpening serrated bread knives and the apex of the taper is becoming blunt and sometimes too wide to comfortably fit the scallops.
Im guessing there will be some members who have experienced the same issue and am wondering if there is a proven method to re-profile the taper.

The density of the felt wheel we quoted you yesterday is 0.65g/cm³, same as knifegrinders KG Australia.

The density 0.8g/cm³ can be made, and the unit price is USD120/pc for size 250mm x 45mm x 12mm arbor hole(square edge type). And the unit price is USD70/pc for size 240mm x 25mm x 12mm arbor hole (double tapered type).

Lead time 15-20 days.

I too placed an order with Knife Grinders for some felt wheels. Sadly, with the passing of Vadim, it is doubtful I will receive my order. On the advice of Ken (administrator) I have made contact with KG via PayPal, whom I used to pay for the wheels and am waiting on a response.

In the meantime I have read some of the informative feedback through this forum, so thanks to you all.

Thanks Ken, I'll source his book from somewhere. Ideally, Id like a hard copy, but a digital version might be the only option. Any suggestions?

Sadly, I think it's time to source another supplier.

I have emailed them via the KG website as well as using the vadim@exemail.com.au without receiving a reply. Im totally in the dark regarding my order and some kind of communication would be helpful.

Hello fellow community members, as this is my first post I am hoping to get some feedback regarding Knife Grinders Australia and whether any of you have received Tormek after-market accessories since Vadims passing. Since joining this community I have learnt of his passing (RIP) and would appreciate if any member could notify me or the forum via this thread of information on KG products that were paid for prior to his passing. I like many others have paid for KG products and am not sure whether to simply write off the payment, or whether to wait and hope they arrive.
