thx for your helpful messages and input, and sorry for my long absence in this thread.
As advised, I contacted Tormek support which was a very, very exciting experience. Wolfgang took a lot of time and offered via mail and phone real good service!
(Now I know why I decided for the most expensive sharpening system on the market: service surely is worth that money compared to other poor experiences I had with other companies.)
Solution was, as presumed by simonh and by Wolfgang, to play with the two side-placed srews on the SE-77 jig, with which I brought it to a fairly good and repeatable result with SG 250-stone.
Not exactly understanding why the jig doesn't work in neutral position, I am happy (and pragmatic) enough to be satisfied for the moment.
