Good suggestion. Here is the response I got:
"No you do not have to take the motor apart.
On the inside of the housing you have a cover over the main switch.
This cover can be removed. Underneath you have the wires connected to the main switch with cable shoes.
Just remove them and the connection point for the earth protection..
Then just tap out the shaft that holds the motor and then its loose from the housing."
Perfect. It only took a few minutes to remove the switch. The hardest part was undoing the strain relief.
