Knife Sharpening / Re: 3D printed pre USB setup

Hi.

1. The round part will attach to the USB.
2. And then lowered so the flat "bottom" is against the fvb.
3. Tighten the USB tightening nubs, 4. Then lowering the micro adjustment nuts on the USB.

When wanting the to remove the burr with 2° deg higher.
Undo the USB tightening nubs.
Lift up the USB and slide the "washer" under the micro adjustment nuts and press down and tighten USB tightening nubs.

USB = universal support bar
Fvb = frontal Vertical base

Knife Sharpening / 3D printed pre USB setup
March 14, 2026, 12:40:56 PM
Good day gentleman and ladies!

After getting back to sharpening again after my first kids (twins)

I started thinking.
3D printed pre USB setup, anybody tried it?

I have my first test now for the fvb with standard project distance 130-140-150 and DPS at 15. For the Tormek leather wheel.

Please come with critic so we can evolve together!

Best regards

General Tormek Questions / SVP-80 question
October 01, 2019, 10:06:16 AM
Hello. Is there anyone in this forum that is using this jig? And can confirm that it is working like it should and if it can be used to sharpen sheep shears and other cutting machine?
Is the standard pin system enough or should it be more hole to be acceptable for more sizes?
Have got more and more questions if I can sharpen this kind for the local community and that's why I'm asking for more knowledge!

Best regards

Knife Sharpening / Re: Frontal Vertical Base

Thank you wootz, great reading like normally.

So I should start with a low deburring angle (0.5°?) And then test with the flourocarbon.
What jumps do you recommend to take between each increase?
And if it goes to high and round the Apex then it will just not cut as easily anymore?

Hello fellow tormeker

Im wondering on how can I tell if I have deburred the bevel ?
I don't have edgeonup. So can't get help From it.
Is it just to test one angle first and if not working then try an even greater angle?
Is there any "easier" way to know at what angle to deburr it other then trial and error?

Hello. First Time poster.
IF i have used the black marker method to get the same angle for The knife on the sharpening Stone, how can i change the lenght of the legs of the USB so that i can Quickly change from Stone to leather wheel?
