Knife Sharpening / Pieces of burr coming off?
March 21, 2017, 01:34:54 AM
HI,

Are there any chances after I have sharpened my kitchen knives, that small bits of steel or burr could come off and end up in my food. If so how is the best way to avoid that? Eg cleaning method first.

Thanks Stevo.

Thanks Ken. I will take your advice on the cheap knives to start on. I have a lot of old chisels that are pretty banged up. I will probably get them close on my old belt sander, then practice on the Tormek with them.

A lot of Jans photos don't show up for some reason.

cheers.

I was wondering why I can see some photos but some are just small squares with no image?

General Tormek Questions / About to buy a Tormek
March 20, 2017, 09:51:06 AM
Hi All,

New member here.I am about to purchase a tormek because I have just bought a set of chef knives. I think I will get the best results sharpening with it because I won't have to do it freehand and probably bugger them up :) I might also try to sharpen all my wood chisels to. I currently do them on a old belt sander turned upside down and clamped to a bench. Not good

cheers Stevo.
