I found a similar problem - as I tightened the screw the whole tool slid slightly sideways. I managed to get it clamped, and as it's the side of the tool that rests on the tool rest rather than the jig the angle isn't critical, so I made do, but it did seem a strange way of doing it. I wondered about getting a piece of MDF or similar, cutting out a groove to fit the thickness of the tool, slotting that over the edge and clamping that, but I've not had chance to try that yet.
