Wood Turning / SVS-50 and Diamond Parting Tool
January 22, 2013, 08:08:42 PM
I purchased my Tormek 2000 and the complete set of jigs in 2006.  I just purchased a lathe, and for the first time was sharpening turning tools on my Tormek.  All went exceedingly well until I tried to sharpen my diamond parting tool using the SVS-50.  Following the directions in the turning tool instruction guide, I mounted the parting tool.  The threaded knob screw has a pointed end (which was great when I sharpened my roughing gouge), but trying to hold the edge of the parting tool would cause the tool to slip off whenever I tried to apply any kind of pressure.  Surely I am missing something here, but there was no additional instructions and there was no alternative threaded knob.  Any suggestions would be most welcome!
