This is what I found over on the Tormek Group site at Yahoo:

Re: Fwd: Tormek Motor Wiring

Mike

Thx for pointing that out. My searches didn't include "European" - I guess I
just assumed it would provide a wider return.

Anyway I am sure you are correct. And the motor is marked 110V. The old motor
was made by Tyco in UK, the new motor seems more generic but better made. The
old motor had a fan failure and the new motor has what looks like a better fan
design.

I little more clarity in the wiring diagram would have been nice.

Thx again - Bill

General Tormek Questions / Tormek Wiring

I have to replace the motor on my Tormek 2000. I have rec'd the replacement
motor and went to install and discovered that the wiring color code is different
from the original.

The original motor had green, black and white wires connecting to similar
colored wires at the switch.

The new motor has yellow/green (this has grounding lug like original green wire
so no confusion. The other two wires are Brown and Blue. I guess in theory it
shouldn't make any difference but the motor was $300+ and I can't do that again!

I can find no reference to these colors for 120v single phase equipment. The
Tormek wiring diagram is no help since it says that the power cord also has
Brown and Blue rather than Black and White.

Any help appreciated - Thx Bill
