Wood Turning / Simple Jig for Stone Truing Tool
November 04, 2006, 05:55:36 AM
Hi All,

This really helped me SLOWLY move the Truing Tool across the face of the stone. I would get ridges every time before I made this simple jig. Now flat and smooth. I saw a commercial version of this for almost $50. Mine is made from stuff I had lying around the shop!

Blessings,

PS Oops. Wrong forum. Sorry.

Thanks Jeff,

I just put a straight bevel back on it.  Takes a while to grind one back on!

Hi Jeff,

I just purchased the TTS-100 at the San Mateo CA show and I must be doing something wrong.

I am trying to put a curved edge on a Sorby 1/2" skew chisel. P=75 and the  SVS-50 is set for 30. I amusing the closer hole to set the distance.

The grind that I get is almost flat (square) rather than skewed. Any idea what I did wrong?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks Jeff,

I will have to give it a try. I have not had much success so far, but maybe I am not on staying long enough.

Thanks for the great support--one of the reasons I purchased my Tormek at Sharptools!

Hand Tool Woodworking / Camber Jig
September 27, 2006, 03:27:09 AM
Jeff,

Any news about a Tormek Camber Jig for irons? I know that Jet came out with one for their machine and was wondering if Tormek had any plans for one.

Thanks.

Thanks Jeff,

I was guessing the 110 was the correct jig. I tired that and had OK results, but in the opposite orientation of the draw knife shown on the site here. Will the opposite orientation a  try.

Thanks.

Hi,

My cab scraper has a blade that is 2 3/4" wide. How do I grind a 45 degree bevel on so wide a blade? The chisel and plane iron jig will not hold it. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks.
