Something to remember is that even though it may take a long time to get a chisel back into shape, once done, the resharpening and touch up of the same chisel will go very quickly the next time. All the major work would already be done.

I wouldn't think you'd have to true it up again. I removed my stone after truing it and I'm sure I didn't put it back in the exact same position and it was fine when I checked for that very thing.

I've found it to be very accurate. I sharpened a set of 5 chisels last week and the WM-200 settings were right on. The angle was 30 degrees and each chisel was sharp. Are you sure you had the settings correct on the 200? It should have been spot on.

I've never read that the SVD-185 jig should be placed in the vertical position. Only horizontally.
