I have used my Tormek for a couple of years for chisels, plane irons and kitchen knives, with success.
I made my first try at using the SVS-50 with a 1-inch roughing gouge the other day. In spite of removing all of the magic-marker coating on the bevel, I could not raise a detectable burr on the inside of the gouge. Any clues as to what I am doing wrong here?
I note that the instructions in the book only mention honing on the leather wheel on the bevel, using a marker. If I HAD raised a burr on the inside of the gouge, would I not want to hone that side too?
Thanks.
