General Tormek Questions / unknown part for model 2000

I have a part for the model 2000.  It looks like the tool rest
but has a mylar strip on one side.  I have no idea what it is used for.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the tormek 2000 which came with a vhs video.  The video is about 10-15 minutes long.  I see that
an 80 minute dvd comes with the newer tormeks.  Why isn't the dvd made available for download?
