Title: Tormek fine grit options CBN/Diamond
Post by: Cjeanes on January 17, 2022, 07:39:14 PM
Hello everyone!

I just got my 800 grit CBN wheel and I didn't particularly like the scratch pattern it left on my knives. I'm curious as to what time grit options everyone is using? Would I be better suited in looking into purchasing a 1000 or 1200 grit CBN wheel? Does anyone have any experience with the 600 or 1200 fine grit diamond wheels?

Thanks for any advice!

Welcome to the forum, William.

A suggestion I learned from one of Tormek's top knife experts: When you are using your grinding wheel, use very light pressure on the final passes. That will lighten the scratch pattern.

I would try this before purchasing another grinding wheel.

Please keep us posted.

Will do Ken, thanks! I'm still very new to the Tormek system so still learning the process.
