Title: Standard bowl gouge question
Post by: stunshot on September 08, 2021, 04:07:08 PM
Hi to all the tormek gurus, just got my hands on a tormek kit for bench grinding and am happy with the swept back grinds/skews etc.
Just slightly confused as to how to sharpen a standard bowl gouge, say 55 degree bevel with 'normal' wing profile.

Im seeing a recipe of 4/65/A but thought i needed the jig more at 1 or 2 to not get so much of a sweep back ??

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Alan,

I have captured information here https://sharpeninghandbook.info/WW-BowlGouge.html (https://sharpeninghandbook.info/WW-BowlGouge.html) about that.
