Does anyone have a recommendation on how to sharpen a hook knife?

Yeah. It takes a little explaining though. There is a good video below

The hand stropping video is excellent, but does anyone know if there is a way to sharpen a hook knife with the Tormek?

Are you talking about the disposable hook blades used on utility knives by roofers? I've never had much luck sharpening straight ones. I imagine the hoked ones would be impossible.

Herman, I think he is talking about a more specialized carving knife, as shown in the video.

I figured that after I read what I wrote. This is the Wood Carver's forum, not the Roofer's forum. :)

A logical error, Herman. Every woodcarver's house has a roof. :)

I know this is an old topic but I would also like to know if there is a way to sharpen a hook knife with a Tormek. Brian
