Title: Knife Sharpening angle
Post by: Lonny on September 11, 2009, 07:40:51 PM
I sometimes find it impossible to get the knife sharpening jigs far enough away form the stone, to give me a smaller angle on the edge.

I either need the guide bar to move further away from the stone, or have a longer stem on the knife jigs.

Please point out the error of my ways.  Thanks.

Ksoor,

The problem described would be with very wide knives, like cleavers, not small blades.

In both cases, the answer is to sharpen the tool either freehand (in the case of small knives) or with the SVD-110 Tool Rest.
