Post by: 40dave on February 12, 2009, 07:56:31 PM

hello all,
i am new to using the T7 and am wondering if liquid paraffin would be OK to use in place of light machine oil on the honing wheel then use the honing compound.

thanks David.  :)

I am not familiar with liquid paraffin.  My favorite oil for the honing wheel is mineral oil, available in most pharmacies.

I am not familiar with liquid paraffin.
The name differs in different countries. Here (SA) liquid paraffin or unscented baby oil is what you call mineral oil.
In the same vein what you call white spirit we call substitute turpentine or turps not to be confused with genuine turps.
Naptha is our benzine
Denatured alcohol is industrial meths.
Can be confusing when reading literature from across the globe.

That's the stuff!  "Unscented baby oil" is the common ground.  ;D
