Title: Spyderco knife sharpening
Post by: stevesims on February 05, 2009, 03:56:59 AM
I have a new Tormek and am loving it.  To this point I have sharpened chisels and plane irons.

I wanted to sharpen a Spyderco knfe.  It is a smooth blade.  It has a main bevel, then a micro bevel edge.  I can't really tell what the micro bevel angle is  I assume you would use the knife jig SVM-45, but not sure how to set it up.  How do you suggest I sharpen this blade

Steve,

Set your AngleMaster to 22.5 degrees and measure that to the area of the blade just behind the micro-bevel.  That is, on the primary bevel area, also known as the hollow ground area.
