Title: Tormek Original Grindstone or Blackstone
Post by: capt. on January 30, 2009, 03:29:03 AM
I have had a Tormek 2000 for a number of years. It is time for a new grindstone.
Most of my sharpening is high speed steel turning tools.
Would I be better off with the new blackstone or another original grindstone?

Most turners that have tried the Blackstone are thrilled.  Faster cutting and better stone wear.

I can't find pricing on the smaller size wheel for the T-3. Do you know what it costs and who stocks it? Thanks Jeff.

The Blackstone is not available for the T-3.

Are there any plans for a smaller version for the T3 (or in my case a 1206)? This sounds an ideal wheel for woodturning skews and the like.

At this time, there is no plan to develop the SB for the smaller machine.
