Title: Straight Edge Jig
Post by: Wingnut on December 22, 2008, 03:18:09 AM
It's been awhile between projects, and I had to dust off my model 2000 to put a new edge on some chisels.  I noticed quite a bit of play between my straight edge jig and the universal support rod.  I don't recall this much play before, and never had a problem with putting on a nice, straight edge.  Can the plastic inserts in the jig be easily replaced, and if so, where can I obtain them?  Maybe this is my excuse to purchase the new square edge jig.  I'm also considering the new threaded support rod.  Any comments if the upgrade is worth the expense?

The bushings are available, however unless you are a very frequent user, I would be surprised if they need replacing.  They, and all parts are available from http://www.tormekstore.com  Click the link for "Repair Parts" and then then link for the SVH-60 Straight Edge Jig.

As for the value of the micro-adjustable Universal Support and the new Square Edge Jig, I'll leave those comments to users.
