Hello
New here. Reading allot. I have a Tormek T4 that i very much like but i feel it is time to upgrade to the T8. Although i fear my current workbench may be to high for the T8 and that would maybe be a problem for me.
Can someone in the forum tell me the measurement from the workbench to the top of a 250mm stone on the T8? (preferably in cm but inch ok)
That would help me allot. I have found difference in tormek“s statements and i figure the forum could give me a definitive answer. Of course it would have to be a pretty new stone or a diamond stone.
I have just measured it at 350mm. As accurate as I can be. Hope this helps.
Thank you. Helps allot!
Magnus,
A couple factors which may or may not apply to your needs:
1)Do you presently have or plan to have an RT-180 revolving base? If so, you will need to make allowances for it.
2)How much space will you need for for working above your Tormek? If you need only
storage "cubby", you will need very little space. For grinding into the wheel, you will need more clearance.
Just considerations. . .

My bad. That 350mm measurement includes a revolving base.
So it's 350mm minus the revolving base. Im not able to get to the workshop right now to measure that but if someone can't supply that information I'll get to it tomorrow...
Good point Ken!
Good to know.
I have the revolving plate so i will measure it.
Best
Magnus
