Title: Anglemaster for Tormek not setting correct cutting angles
Post by: George NZ on September 26, 2008, 10:02:55 PM
I recently purchased new a Tormek SuperGrind 1200 and when I set the grind angle with the anglemaster for a chisel or plane blade it cuts it about 5 degrees out.  So I set it for 30 degrees and when I checked the cut blade it is at 35 degrees.  I've check the stone diameter and it is 200 mls and I've set the anglemaster to this.  I do get the right degree cut when I set the anglemaster to a 175 ml diameter stone.  This doesn't make sense to me and I was wondering if others have had this problem and if the angle master is faulty - not sure how, as it is a simple device.

Sorry, George.  I just don't have enough experience with the small machine yet to give you a good answer.  I'll try to find out.

If adjusting the diameter to 175 gives you accurate results over several tools, stick with that until we come up with a better answer.
