Title: Old t2000 replace shaft.
Post by: cojuuk on August 13, 2008, 05:04:21 PM
Hi

Have just got a t2000 which was purchased in1991.

Its works great but shaft has rusted and has a slight bend in.

Right I know the new shaft is made of stainless but is it a direct replacement for such an old machine?

I noticed that the new grinding wheels are recessed does this mean the new shaft is shorter than the old one?
(Didnt want to replace wheel as still measures 235mm)

Last thing does the replacement shaft come with washers and nut?

Many thanks

Colin

Colin,

The new stainless shaft will work with the older machine and the older stone.  You'll just have a couple of threads, but it will work.  The washers and nut are priced separately.  All parts are available at http://www.tormekstore.com  Click the link for "Repair Parts" and then the link for Tormek 2000.
