Hi All,
Thought you might be interested in a short video I just recorded to show how I ensure that all the diamonds on the side of my diamond wheels stay wet when sharpening flat bevels on my carving tools. I wish Tormek would come out with a water trough that enables all the diamonds on the side of the wheels to stay wet, but as yet they haven't, so this video explains how I achieve this.
Hope this provides inspiration to others.

Clever solution, Andy! In one of the online classes, Wolfgang just dips his fingers into the water trough and moistens the side of the wheel. I suspect that may be adequate; however, your solution is more thorough and more elegant.

Yes I've watched all the online classes, but he does that prior to starting the machine if I remember correctly. As soon as the machine starts, that water will make its way to the outside of the face and need doing again. It is not adequate lubrication to then proceed to commission a new carving chisel where you are changing the primary bevel from 25 degrees to around 20 degrees. You will be there for about 30 minutes on larger gouges and the metal particles are not getting flushed out of the wheel without continual lubrication.
Personally, I believe Tormek realise this is an issue with using the face of the diamond wheels, but there isn't enough money in it to justify making a water trough specifically to wet all the diamonds on the face of the wheel.
That reminds me of lubrication systems on cnc mills. Great idea.
